Sisters Use Lemonade Stand To Buy Thanksgiving Dinners For Families In Need

For the third year in a row, Alex Fischer, 9, and her sister Caroline, 6, have been working hard to raise money to buy Thanksgiving meals for North Carolina families in need. The girls made $969 from their lemonade and baked goods stand and raised nearly $2,000 more through donations.

With close to $3,000 for their Thanksgiving mission, the Fischer sisters are able to donate 108 boxes filled with turkey dinner staples and 108 turkeys to go with them. They give their supplies to the Charlotte Rescue Mission, a nonprofit that holds an annual Thanksgiving food drive.

The girls’ mom, Lisa Fischer, says they know their efforts will help “a lot of people be able to have Thanksgiving dinner.”
