United Airlines Mistakenly Flies Dog to Japan Instead of Kansas

Just days after a family's beloved dog passed away on a United Airlines flight due to a flight attendant forcing him into the overhead bin, this story happens!

A family moving across the country boarded a United flight from Oregon to Kansas City yesterday. However, it wasn't until they landed that they realized not everyone was accounted for. Irgo, the 10-year old German Shepherd belonging to the family was supposed to meet them at baggage claim when the flight landed, but he was no where to be found! Shortly after, the family learned that their pet had been mistakenly flown elsewhere instead. To be specific, the dog had been flown to JAPAN!

Instead of Irgo waiting for them, they were greeted by a Great Dane upon arrival! The Great Dane that was contrarily supposed to land in Japan. The airline company spoke out shortly after saying,

"An error occurred during connections in Denver for two pets sent to the wrong destinations. We have notified our customers that their pets have arrived safely and will arrange to return the pets to them as soon as possible. We apologize for this mistake and are following up with the vendor kennel where they were kept overnight to understand what happened."

The good news is both dogs should head home soon so the families can reunite with their pals. (Well, we can only hope...)

Way to go, United! Let's make sure the dogs board the right planes this time!
